Mandala is a circular drawing which serves as an indicator of internal process. Understanding and healing can be affected through the process of drawing and/or interpretation of the mandala. No art training or knowledge is required. The MANDALA is a circular drawing, well known by Jungians as an indicator of internal processes. Jung referred to them as cryptograms, coded messages from the inner self. After years of study and research, Joan Kellogg, M.A., ATR, devised a method of integration of mandalas called the Archetypal Stages of the Great Round of Mandala. This includes 13 basic structural patterns which are interpreted by the content and use of color, form and symbols. The MARI I course will focus on mandala drawings and the MARIª Card Test, a projective testing tool. The test assesses movement within the personality at any given time. As an indicator of growth and development, it has proved to be a valuable exploratory research tool for many helping professionals. Through lectures, slides and interpretation of personal mandalas and card choices, participants will learn interpretive skills with the mandala. The focus of attention will be on the MARIª card test with opportunities to learn through application. Color theory will be included together with the many possible dynamic indicators in color combinations and card choices. MARI II will include additional work on colors and the stages of the Great Round; supervision and applications of mandala work and assessment appropriate to your work and your areas of interest. Please bring your MARI card set, pastels and case material and/or mandala examples for supervision. Madelaine Ventre, MS, MT-BC, FAMI is a board certified music therapist, an AMI (Association for Music and Imagery) Fellow and Primary Trainer; and ATMA (Association for Teachers of Mandala Assessment) approved Instructor and a Reiki 2 practitioner.
